Ferrysoft Help Desk Administrator can appear more than once in the Add or Remove Programs window. Symptoms After an upgrade of Ferrysoft Help Desk, Ferrysoft Help Desk Administrator can appear more than once in the Add or Remove Programs window. If the 'Click here for support information.' link is followed for each of the entries then it will be seen that each entry refers to a different version of Ferrysoft Help Desk Administrator. These symptoms only apply to Ferrysoft Help Desk Administrator and do not apply to Ferrysoft Help Desk Web. Cause When Ferrysoft Help Desk is upgraded to a new version, the entry for Ferrysoft Help Desk Administrator in the Add or Remove Programs window for the previous version should be replaced by an entry for the new version. There is an anomaly in this process if Ferrysoft Help Desk Administrator was previously installed using the 'Everyone' option instead of the correct 'Just Me' option. Resolution The issue can be resolved by using the Remove button in the Add or Remove Programs window for all of the entries relating to Ferrysoft Help Desk Administrator (but not Ferrysoft Help Desk Web). Then re-install the most recent version of Ferrysoft Help Administrator. Note that the 'Everyone' and 'Just Me' options no longer appear when installing Ferrysoft Help Desk Administrator. This issue is resolved in Ferrysoft Help Desk 1.0.2. |
